Why are my YouTube analytics not updating?
Almost always because two different systems feed YouTube Studio, and only one of them is live. Views, likes and comments update within hours. Impressions, click-through, retention and traffic sources end about three days ago, so the newest days look empty even when your channel is fine.

The actual reason
One number is live. The rest are three days behind.
This catches almost everyone, because Studio shows both on the same screen without saying which is which.
Views, likes and comments are live
These come from YouTube's public counters and move within hours of people watching. If this number is climbing, your video is being watched right now.
Impressions and click-through are not
These come from YouTube Analytics, which finishes processing a day roughly two to three days after it ends. The most recent days genuinely have no data yet.
So does retention and traffic
How long people watched, where they found you, and how many subscribed from a video all sit in the same delayed system. A brand new upload has none of it yet.
The realtime card is an estimate
The 48 hour and 60 minute cards are approximations meant to show whether something is happening. They are not the final count, and they are expected to disagree with the Analytics tab.
Counts pause while YouTube validates them
YouTube periodically filters out traffic it judges invalid. A public view count can sit still for a stretch and then jump, which looks frozen but is the count being checked.
A real outage is rare, and channel wide
If nothing has moved for well past three days across every video, not just the new one, that is when it is worth checking YouTube's known issues rather than your own channel.

What to do in the meantime
Do not judge a launch on numbers that have not arrived.
The first day or two after an upload is exactly when the delayed data is missing and the live data is all you have. That is not a reason to wait. It is a reason to read the right number.
Live views on day one, compared against what your own channel normally does by day one, tells you whether an upload is opening cold or opening fine. That comparison is available immediately. Click-through and retention answer why, and those can wait until they exist.
The mistake worth avoiding is changing a title or thumbnail in a panic on day one because a graph looked empty, when the graph was simply not filled in yet.

Why are my YouTube analytics not updating?
Because most of what you are looking at is not live. Views, likes and comments update within hours, but impressions, click-through, retention, traffic sources and per-video subscribers come from YouTube Analytics, which finishes processing a day about two to three days after it ends. The newest days look empty because they have not been processed yet.
How long does YouTube analytics take to update?
Usually within 72 hours for the processed metrics. Live view, like and comment counts move much faster, typically within hours. So a video posted today will show views today, and will not show click-through or retention for a couple of days.
Why are my views not updating in YouTube Studio?
Either you are looking at a processed report that has not caught up to the last few days, or your public count is paused while YouTube validates the traffic behind it. Both resolve on their own. Compare the realtime card against the Analytics tab to see which one you are reading.
Why do my views look frozen or stuck?
YouTube periodically filters out views it judges invalid, and a count can sit still during that check and then jump. It is also normal for the number viewers see publicly to update on a different schedule from the number in your own Studio.
Why does the realtime view count not match my analytics?
They are not meant to match. Realtime is a continuously updating estimate of the last 48 hours. The Analytics tab is the validated count after invalid traffic has been removed, which is why it is both later and usually a little lower.
Does this mean my channel is penalized or shadowbanned?
A reporting delay is not a penalty. The delay applies to every channel on the platform, and it is the single most common reason a creator thinks something has gone wrong. If you want to know whether your reach actually changed, that is a question about your processed numbers once they land, not about the delay.
Can I tell how a new video is doing before the analytics arrive?
